چکیده
Background: The survival rate of patients following arterial switch operation (ASO) exceeds 95%, but coronary artery anomalies (CAA) contribute to a 2% incidence sudden cardiac arrest later in life. Therefore, we aimed assess abnormal findings arteries post-ASO patients. Methods: Coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) is performed on who meet institutional criteria. Intraoperative patterns were retrospectively reviewed and categorized using the Leiden classification system. detected by CCTA associations with compromise explored. Results: Forty-three had median age 15.6 years (12–21.3 years) included study. Unusual identified 20 (46%) before ASO. 25 CAA 22 (eleven prepulmonic course, nine interarterial three acute take-off angle, two significant stenosis). Postoperative was more common unusual (90% vs. 17.4%; p

Coronary artery pattern and outcome of arterial switch operation for transposition of the great arteries.
A successful outcome of an arterial switch operation (ASO) for dextro-transposition of the great arteries (D-TGA) depends in large part on the transfer of the coronary arteries to the neoaorta without distortion or narrowing. However, the origins and distribution of the coronary arteries are quite variable in D-TGA; therefore, the entire experience with ASO at the Children's Hospital in Boston ...
متن کاملArterial switch operation with in situ coronary reallocation for transposition of great arteries with single coronary artery.
OBJECTIVES Transposition of great arteries (TGA) with single coronary artery pattern is one of the high-risk groups for arterial switch operation (ASO). Any traction or kinking during coronary transfer can lead to a fatal outcome. With increase in experience, surgical results improved, but it did not completely eliminate the risks of coronary translocation. Many techniques have been described f...
متن کاملCoronary Artery Pattern and Outcome of Arterial Switch Operation for Transposition of the Great Arteries A Meta-Analysis
Background—Prior studies of coronary pattern and outcome after arterial switch operation (ASO) for transposition of the great arteries (TGA) have been hindered by limited statistical power. This meta-analysis assesses the effect of coronary anatomy on post-ASO mortality, both overall and adjusted for time. Methods and Results—A literature search revealed 9 independent series that reported post-...

Early- and intermediate-term results of the arterial switch operation for D-transposition of the great arteries (D-TGA) are encouraging. However, questions remain about the long-term outcome for these patients, especially with regard to exercise performance. Preliminary studies have demonstrated normal endurance time on treadmills. However, data regarding aerobic capacity and cardiopulmonary fu...
متن کاملCardiovascular outcomes after the arterial switch operation for D-transposition of the great arteries.
BACKGROUND Data regarding long-term outcomes after the arterial switch operation for D-transposition of the great arteries are scarce. METHODS AND RESULTS A single-institution retrospective cohort study was conducted to assess cardiovascular outcomes after an arterial switch operation between 1983 and 1999. Patients without follow-up visits within 3 years were contacted and secondary sources ...
